My Name is Lauren Noble and I attend Oakdale High School.
My parents and two older brothers, Austin and Hollis, moved to New Market in July of 2005, right before I was born. My mother works at NCI as a librarian, my father works in Cyber Security with the Department of Defense. My brother Austin works at the Washington Monument as a park ranger, and my other brother Hollis is a radio broadcaster and milks cows in Smithsburg. My Mom and Hollis both are members of the New Market Grange. I also have two lovely kitty cats named Sasha and Hazel.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans after graduation include going to Hood College for my Bachelor’s in Nursing, then going to get my Master’s degree before going into my career as a Pediatric Nurse.
What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
My two favorite restaurants in the community are 5 West and Morgan’s. I love coffee and go to 5 West frequently for a good cup of Joe to start my day, specifically their iced Lavender Honey Latte. In addition, my family and I love Morgan’s for a good sit down meal, we are especially fond of their crab dip.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
If I could travel anywhere in the world right now it would be the Amalfi Coast of Italy because the idea of eating Italian food by the Sea sounds very relaxing and beautiful, perfect for summer!
What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of my favorite movies is Letters to Juliet, cause who doesn’t love a good romance! One of my favorite TV shows is Friends because it’s always good for a laugh.
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
Advice that I would give to my senior class and the younger students at your school is to be kind and surround yourself with people that bring out the best version of yourself. High School can be rough but kindness goes a long way and it can make someone’s day! In addition, make sure to surround yourself with people who are going to bring out the best version of yourself academically and socially. High School is a time to explore who you are and want to be, by surrounding yourself with good friends it helps you to encourage you to make the right choices on your path to success.
If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
If I could cast myself in any show I would cast myself in Emily in Paris because who doesn’t love some good drama in a beautiful place like Paris!
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
If I could have lunch with anyone I would have lunch with Jane Austen at 5 West Cafe, as I have my best talks over coffee. I would choose Jane Austen because I have read all of her books and I think it would be interesting to discuss the overall meaning behind some of my favorite characters and plots and find out what inspired her to write her stories.
What is your favorite thing about our community?
My favorite thing about our community is the many opportunities it presents to meet other people
Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In 5 to 10 years, I see myself working at a hospital and coming home to a house full of cats!
What is something on your bucket list?
Something on my bucket list for this summer is to make fresh bruschetta with the tomatoes I’m growing in my community garden.
What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
My go to singer when I can’t decide what to listen to is Aretha Franklin, specifically her song “Say a Little Prayer for You”.
Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is July because that’s when it feels most like summer to me. My favorite holiday is Easter! My favorite single day on the calendar is August 8th, because 8 is my favorite number.
What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I would rate the sound of the birds in my backyard a 10 out of 10.
Who inspires you to be better?
The little girls I coach through the LOUYAA POMS program inspire me to be better with their positive attitudes always encouraging me to be a good role model!
