I am the owner of Angie’s Cookie Cottage, located in New Market. I am a wife and mother of three boys. I have resided in/around New Market my entire life.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband and I are high school sweethearts and will celebrate our 20-year wedding anniversary this August. We have three boys: Michael-age 18, Zach-age 16, and Cole-age 4. We have a 12 year old lab mix named George.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Prior to cookie decorating, I worked in higher education. In 2016, my sister and I took a cookie decorating class, and I fell in love! After juggling family, career, and cookies for several years, I decided to leave my position at Hood College in 2020. This was a great decision, as it allowed me more time to spend with family, especially during those challenging virtual learning years! I love the flexibility, creative freedom, and variety that cookie decorating provides.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I grew up in Monrovia and attended Linganore High School. In 2005, our family moved to New Market.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Briony Campbell! She is the mom of one of my childhood best friends, so I have known her many years, however we recently reconnected through the tree auction for the Christmas in New Market celebration. As a child, I remember being in awe of their family Christmas trees, and she has taken decorating whole new level with her mini trees! I’m inspired by her creativity and the time and energy she spends helping the Town of New Market!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
I recently saw a wonderful quote on our church Facebook page. “Fear does not stop death, it stops life. And worrying does not take away tomorrow’s troubles, it takes away today’s peace”. I think this is great advice!

I would love to own a home at the beach one day.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I love Emerald Isle, NC. Our family vacations there every summer. It is so peaceful and beautiful!
