My name is Marley Hart and I am 16 years old. I attend Linganore High School and will be a junior this year. I am a member of the LHS Field Hockey team and SGA. Some of my hobbies include strength training, baking/cooking, organizing, cheering on my siblings at their sporting events and helping my mom with my 3 younger siblings.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I come from a large family. I am the second oldest of five children. I have an older sister, Tatum, who just finished her freshman year at Towson University, and I have three younger siblings, Brooks, 13, Sailor, 11, and Hobby, 7. I also have 3 dogs and a cat, which are part of our family. Despite being so busy with our different activities, we are a close family and try to do as much together as possible.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
Currently I have a cake baking business called Sweethart Cakes. The thing that I love most about my business is the flexible hours, working from home and being able to express my creativity. I also enjoy making other people happy and contributing to their special occasions.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in New Market for 11 years and have been baking for the past 2 1/2 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person I have met in our community is Detective Sergeant Scott Robertson.
Q: What advice would you give to people?
My advise would be to always follow your dreams and don’t get pressured to do something you don’t enjoy.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
I would love to travel to the West Coast.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing about our community is the people. Everyone here is so friendly and I love how it is very family oriented.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In 5-10 years I see myself in college pursuing my dreams.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Something interesting that people don’t know about me is that I love to go grocery shopping, even for other people! I also used to model when i was younger for various boutiques.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
The most beautiful place I have ever been was on a beach in Florida.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is July, favorite holiday is Christmas, and best single day on the calendar is April 25th.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A day at the beach.
Q: What person, event or experience has made the greatest impact or inspiration in your life?
Covid has made the greatest impact in my life. It was during the initial months of the pandemic when I started baking cakes because I was running out of other things to do during quarantine.

Family, Belonging, Comforting.
