I am a local residential mortgage lender with over twenty years experience in the industry. I have lived in New Market for over ten years and in Frederick County for over twenty years. I am thankful to have helped residents within our local community of New Market buy, build, or refinance their homes, as well as thousands of others in the DMV area .

 

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’ve been married for over twenty two years to my wife Cara Via. She is a real estate agent, as well. So, real estate is a common topic of discussion in our household. We have two sons and two dogs. Our sons, Kooper and Carter keep us plenty busy with sports, especially football. They both attend Oakdale High School. Go Bears! We all enjoy being outdoors whether it be on the the lake, trail or other amenities our community has to offer.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I’ve always had a passion for working with numbers and helping people. This is the reason I’ve been in the mortgage business for most of my career. I’m thankful to only have been with two companies in my career, as I’m a big believer of loyalty and commitment. The that I love about what I do is the people I meet and helping them during an exciting milestone in their lives.

I’ve lived in our community for over ten years, and have worked here for over twenty years

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I’ve been very fortunate to meet so many amazing and talented people…from space craft engineers to renowned voice over specialists and so many others in between!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Keep it simple

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Trek through Alaska

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the small town feel in our community while being in proximity of big cities.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
While having the luxury of being able to work remotely, I would like to travel more in the years to come.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I’m a closet metalhead

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
It’s tough to say, but I think Aruba

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I don’t have a favorite month, but I love Fall. I love the changing of the leaves, cooler temperatures after the hot summer, as well as football season.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Jersey Mikes subs – but this may just be a craving that I’ve been on lately.

Q: What person, event or experience has made the greatest impact or inspiration in your life?
My father and grandfather both worked incredibly hard as I was growing up and instilled good values and work ethic. To this day they still impact my life.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
