I am a mom of three and have lived in the Lake Linganore community since 2001. I operate a cottage business, Lake Cakes, and make custom cakes for special occasions.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I married my high school sweetheart, Frank, and we have three great kids that are 16, 12 and 10.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I began working at a bakery while in high school and started learning how to decorate. It is something that I have always gone back to so when the MD Cottage Food laws changed and Covid happened I decided to go for it!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I grew up in Mt. Airy but attended NMES and NMMS so basically I don’t remember a time before I was in New Market every day!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
My most interesting people are the group of supportive friends that I have made in my neighborhood! We all support each other in a million different ways.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
It is ok to do what actually makes you happy instead of what you think should make you happy.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
My husband and I want to buy an RV one day and drive all over the country.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love that every time I leave my house I run into someone I know. Sometimes from today, five years ago, fifteen years ago or thirty years ago!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I wouldn’t change a thing! Maybe some Botox!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I will talk to anyone. Really, anyone. Although my family and friends very much know this!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I think anywhere is beautiful in the right time and place but it is hard to beat the coast in Maine.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
July… 4th of July and July 15th…I love the middle part of things.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Blue Crabs

Q: What person, event or experience has made the greatest impact or inspiration in your life?
Honestly, my husband. We have been dating since I was sixteen and he always encourages and believes in me even though deep down he knows that I am much, much funnier.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
Dolly Parton, because I suspect she is smarter than all of us. I’d take her to Avery’s for a crab feast!

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Maryland, Family, Friends
