As a small business owner, animal lover, and rabid Grateful Dead fan, I’ve had a very interesting life! From five years on the road following the Grateful Dead, to over a decade in the Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic, to a fast-paced career in the non-profit sector, to small town business owner… I have fit a lot of excitement into my almost 50 years. This small town is a welcome fresh breath in a busy, hectic world.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I co-own Peridot, with my lovely step-daughter Kaitlyn.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I love curating unique and beautiful items that stir the imagination, and sharing the magic of hand made and one of a kind items with the people who also love them.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
5 years!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
I will never forget Ben, who ran Santa Fe Trading Company. He was welcoming and kind, and his passing was a great loss to our little town. You are missed, Ben!

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Always make sure you make time for the things that make your heart sing.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
To visit Norway, change my name, and start a new life as a jeweler in a small sea-side town.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite things are the stately old historic homes, and our local flocks of crows and vultures that pose on old brick chimneys and steeped metal roofs.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Hopefully in a bigger store! Here’s looking at you, General Store!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Most people do not know that I am 99% sure my Great-Grandfather immigrated to the US as an outlaw under an assumed name, and that he is not who he claimed to be.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Anyplace outdoors.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
That would be October 7th, the day I married my husband and best friend, Jamie. He happens to be the most patient, indulgent, and adventurous man. No one else could ever put up with my sh*t.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Training a wild vulture to eat out of my hand. 10/10 don’t knock it till you try it.

Q: What person, event or experience has made the greatest impact or inspiration in your life?
Sheila, a good friend and mentor gone far too soon. She taught me how to be present in the world, and to know what matters.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Welcoming, safe, accepting
