Hi! My name is Jennifer Long. I have lived in New Market since 2008 with my husband and daughter. My husband and I are both middle school math teachers. When I am not teaching, I like to ride horses and I support women by helping them find quality skin care and makeup.
Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband and I have been married since 2008. In 2011 our daughter was born.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
My main career is teaching. I love working with my students and helping them grow in mathematics. What I love most about selling SeneGence is that I help women find high quality products that really work!
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in New Market since 2008. Though I have never worked in New Market I did do my student teaching at NMMS in 2006.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
What I love about New Market is that it attracts so many cool and interesting people. I can’t pick just one!
Q: What advice would you give to people?
To be kind. The more you talk to people and learn their story, the more you realize that everyone is going through something.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
There are so many things. I want to continue to try to improve in my horseback riding to higher levels. I would love to go back to Europe someday too.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
I love the community feel. It is fun to see your friends at yoga, at a restaurant, or just out and about. As New Market business grow, the small town feeling only gets stronger.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
Still in New Market. My family has no plans to leave. I would love to see my SeneGence business grow!
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
When I was in college I got a scholarship from the National Security Agency and another one from McDonald’s.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
I loved my time in Salzburg Austria when I was in college.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I am a big fan of Halloween and Christmas. And the best single day is obviously my birthday!
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
My horse is the 10 out of 10 in my life. And my kid. Lol.
Q: What person, event or experience has made the greatest impact or inspiration in your life?
Losing my parents changed me the most. I lost my mom when I was 26 and had an 8th month old daughter. Then I lost my dad in 2017. It has really helped me learn to embrace your life.
